Jörg Eschweiler currently serves as Advisor to the Executive Board of Media Broadcast Satellite (MBS), co-leading corporate development and set-up of MBS SPACE as German/European sovereign Responsive Space and space-based ISR provider. He co-founded GenLab Venture Studio, focused on AI and Deep Tech, supporting the trans-national technology venture approach between Europe, Asia and North America as Managing Partner with special focus on critical infrastructures.
Formerly he headed the Public Sector Intelligence & Cybersecurity business with Atos Germany, supported clients in Germany, EU and NATO. Prior to joining Atos he held leading industrial positions with Airbus Defense & Space and IBM in context of intelligence, information security and cyber domain. Before pursuing a career in industry he served in the military and gained background and experience in Joint ISR, intelligence and asymmetric and cognitive operations as well information and cyber security on national and international level. He was involved in planning and set-up of major German and European Private-Public-Partnerships as well as transatlantic capability development and fielding approaches. He was part of the efforts that developed Cyber Security standards like STIX/TAXII, SBOM and DBOM.
Besides supporting AFCEA International as long term personal AFCEA member he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Digital Convergence committee with German Security and Defence Industry Association (BDSV e.V.) in 2018 which he co-founded and is member of the leadership team of the strategic innovation dialogue with German MoD in which he leads an expert group focused on trustworthy computing and cyber security. Since beginning he’s pioneering and co-leading the joint best practice development on Software Defined Defense since 2023. He is life-time member of the Association of Old Crows.
